The Positive team has developed considerable experience organising and staging original and compelling product launches, events, educational conferences, exhibitions and seminars, as well as the development of the promotional campaigns needed to encourage good attendance. As Professional Conference Organisers we work to attract sponsors, delegates and speakers as well as sourcing and liaising with venues, caterers, technicians and other support services.. We also facilitate taking payments for conferences on behalf of clients.

Clinical Innovations Conference – Smile On and Dental Tribune

Smile On organises a professional, accessible and effective Clinical Innovations Conference which has been accepted across the profession. The Company brought in Positive Communications three years in a row to run their Conference (CIC) and charity event in partnership with the Alpha Omega Group and later the Anglo-Asian Odontological Group (AOG). In 2011, Positive Communications also ran the London Deanery DCP Conference in parallel with the CIC.

Our responsibilities included the following:

Liaising with speakers ranged from putting together the main CIC programme with their biographies and synopses to producing a speaker pack which incorporated all logistical details for the Conference, helping to meet their requirements in terms of presentation, audio-visual, and offering our support to organise break-out sessions … and so much more including supporting the exhibition included liaising with sponsors to promote their products and services to delegates prior to the Conference (submission of editorials, delegate bag inserts, video clips) providing them with an exhibition pack and regular updates regarding floor plan, delegate numbers and stand options/ measurements, assisting them with logistical support for set up and when the latter sponsor specific courses and hands on courses.

Liaison with delegates comprises regular updates on the Conference logistics (location, timings, transport, evaluation forms, certificates, charity event) and information on hands on course options as they became available. Overall management of the Conference starts with delegates’ registration, managing exhibitors during set up, and making sure that speakers’ audio-visual requirements were met without any delay. Catering and generally speaking making sure that the event as a whole ran smoothly.

Oral Healthcare for People Living with Cancer, University College London and Eastman Dental Institute (June 2010)

Positive Communications was asked by former Dean of the Eastman Institute, Professor Crispian Scully, to manage this International Conference from handling the sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, delegates, as well as managing the overall budget.

The request came at a very short notice with a programme to produce, speakers to liaise with, sponsors to identify and the numerous responsibilities associated with the logistics of any educational events. The event was a huge success for them with over 300 delegates from a number of countries who highly rated this event not only for its content but also for the quality of Positive Communication’s work.

Philips Sonicare CPD events (2010 – 2012)

Philips is renowned for bridging the gap between scientific advancements and technological breakthroughs and has demonstrated a long-term commitment to integrating the latest academic and clinical expertise and consumer insights into new product development. We proposed putting together and running as series of educational symposia and lectures taking world renowned speakers to nine cities around the UK. We initiated the idea and were successful in bringing it to life for Philips in Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol, Brighton and Newcastle. Our main tasks included finding venues, promoting these courses via the dental press and a wide range of direct marketing activity including social media, as well as taking payments, organising the logistics, liaising with the speakers and so on.

British Orthodontic Society’s – National Orthodontic Week

Tracy Posner worked as Communications Manager for the British Orthodontic Society for five years. In order to address a very real need for a public outreach campaign Positive Communications initiated National Orthodontic Week for the British Orthodontic Society and has the launch events for two years running, as well as setting up a public website and creating all the supporting literature for the Society. As you can imagine the logistics of organising the event were considerable.

British Dental Homeopathic Society

In October 2013 Positive Communications organised the annual conference for the British Dental Homeopathic Society. The feedback from delegates was unequivocally positive with a high percentage scoring the organisation excellent.
